On behalf of our client, a long-established engineering company that provides design and manufacturing solutions to the dairy industry, we are seeking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing team based in Nicosia.

Role Overview:

The Mechanical Design Engineer will be part of the Technical Department, working closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to design, develop, and optimize mechanical solutions for dairy processing and food manufacturing equipment. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in engineering design, product development, and project execution while contributing to innovation and continuous improvement. This position provides a pathway for professional growth within the Technical Department.

Responsibilities:

·      Plan, conceptualize, and create mechanical designs for dairy processing and food manufacturing equipment.

·      Develop 3D CAD models and 2D drawings with full parametric design methodology.

·      Support prototype builds, functional testing, and validation of new designs.

·      Perform mechanical engineering calculations (structural, thermal, flow, etc.) to support design decisions.

·      Generate and maintain BoMs, technical documentation, and revision-controlled drawings in accordance with company standards.

·      Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams (electrical, automation, production, and installations) as well as suppliers and contractors.

·      Ensure projects meet timeline, cost, and quality objectives.

·      Contribute to continuous improvement by suggesting design optimizations and efficiency gains.

Requirements and Desirable Skills:

·      A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

·      1 - 4 years of experience in a similar position will be considered an advantage.

·      Proficiency in parametric 3D CAD and 2D drafting software.

·      Solid understanding of mechanical systems and design principles.

·      Strong calculation skills (stress analysis, tolerances, thermal and flow fundamentals).

·      Excellent problem-solving and analytical ability with attention to detail.

·      Fluent in both Greek and English (written and verbal).

·      Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

·      Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
