On behalf ofour client, a long-established engineering company that provides design and manufacturing solutions to the dairy industry, we are seeking to recruit an Accountant to join their growing team based in Nicosia.
Role Overview
The Accountant will support the Accounting Department with various tasks, including filing, data entry, and client/vendor communications. Responsibilities include processing transactions, issuing checks, updating ledgers, preparing financial reports, assisting with audits, and managing payroll. The Accountant will ensure timely payments, perform bank reconciliations, manage customer and supplier allocations, and prepare monthly journals. They will also handle imports, exports, taxes, and contribute to job closing.
Key Responsibilities
· Providing support to the Accounting Department.
· Performing basic office tasks, such as filing, data entry, answering phones, processing the mail, etc.
· Handling communications with clients and vendors via phone,email, and in-person.
· Processing transactions, issuing checks, and updating ledgers, budgets, etc.
· Preparing financial reports.
· Assisting with audits, fact checks and resolving discrepancies.
· Assisting with Payroll procedure
· Swift payments
· Bank reconciliations
· Follow up customers for payments
· Customers/ suppliers allocation
· Follow up on monthly payments of PAYE and Social insurances
· Customer invoices issuing
· Imports
· Exports
· Prepare monthly journals such as Accruals, Standing orders etc
· Assist with job closing
· Follow up Intrastat and VIES (monthly)
· Bank accounts checking
· Registration of new employees in Ergani
· Record day to day financial transactions and complete theposting process.
· Reconcile sales taxes, payroll taxes, and bank accounts at theend of each month.
· Process accounts receivable and payable.
· Process checks.
· Understand ledgers.
· Work with the accounting officer.
· Handle monthly payroll using accounting software.
Requirements and Desirable Skills:
· Accounting or related field degree.
· At least 3 years of relevant experience
· Fluency in verbal and written English and Greek
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
· Strong typing and data entry skills
· Excellent time management abilities
· Professional manners and strong ethical standards
· Ability to multitask while remaining motivated and positive
· Organized, team-oriented, and eager for continuous learning
· Strong commitment to working efficiently and accurately
· Additional education, experience, or certifications will beconsidered an advantage
· Knowledge of Sage software will be considered an advantage
